I remember a job interview for a company called Taliant in December 2004. One of the interviewers had a weird accent, and I couldn’t give my full attention to the interview because I was trying to place it. I thought I heard some French, but I was picking up German as well. “Is it Swiss?” I wondered. I wasn’t brave enough to ask, but it turns out I was right. That was my coauthor, Daniel.
