I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Introduction
I began blogging at the end of 2005 as a way to share my experiences of a career in food. At that time I was an art and advertising director in the food industry and found that many of the things I was doing didn’t quite fit into the day job. What better way to share them than by starting a food blog? That’s how www.mattbites.com was born. It also became an incubator for my burgeoning interest in food photography. At that point I wasn’t a photographer, although I had spent years on photo sets, art directing and producing shoots and working with some amazing photographers. I felt as if all the pieces were there for me to jump into food photography. I just had to do it.
