About the Contributors

Bill Bolton (Chapters 11 and 12 available on line at www.elsevierdirect.com/companions/9781856176217) is the author of Programmable Logic Controllers. Formerly he was Head of Research, Development and Monitoring at the Business and Technician Education council (BTEC) in England, having also been a UNESCO consultant in Argentina and Thailand, a member of the British Technical Aid project to Brazil on technician education, a member of the Advanced Physics Nuffield Project for school physics, and a senior lecturer in a college. He is also the author of many successful engineering textbooks.
