Author

Vera M. Kolb earned a chemical engineering degree and an MS in chemistry at Belgrade University, Serbia. She pursued her chemistry studies as a Fulbright scholar, and earned a PhD at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is currently a professor of chemistry and the director of the Center for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Parkside. She had two sabbatical leaves, one at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the other at Northwestern University. She has over 150 publications, including two books and three patents, in the fields of organic reactions and mechanisms, morphine-type opiates and their receptors, estrogens, nucleosides, teratogens, organic reactions in water and in the solid state, ...
