Green organic chemistry is developing at a fast pace. It is increasingly being applied to other branches of chemistry, but also to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and to the field of engineering. It is also becoming increasingly present in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum. It is my hope that this book will be useful to students, instructors, and chemists in general in learning about green organic chemistry and its interdisciplinary applications.
This book reflects my enthusiasm for green chemistry, which I wish to transfer to students and other readers.
