We covered some issues with the UNIX operating system, some common areas where vulnerabilities are usually found, and some general concepts. In the section, “UNIX Fundamentals” we covered some tools that can be used to help test the security of your site or even improve the security of your site. Anyone working in the security field must have a good understanding of the UNIX operating system and know what tools exist to secure a UNIX site.
