Another arrangement of magnets was proposed by
Cugat et al. (1994) (Figure 2.160b). A set of four rod
magnets when rotated can create the variable magnetic
eld depending on the angular position of the mag-
nets (magic mangle), enabling to change the value and
direction of the uniform magnetic eld from −0.2 to
+0.2 T.
Figure 2.161 presents the examples of a magnet array
generating uniform magnetic eld over a large area
(used in magnetic resonance devices in medicine) and
at the same time practically cancellation of external
