4.2.5 Frequency Response of Search Coil Sensor
It is obvious from Equation 4.14 that in order to obtain
any output voltage signal from the sensor, the ux
density must be varying with time. Therefore, the coil
sensors are capable of measuring only dynamic (AC)
magnetic elds. In the case of the DC magnetic elds,
the variation of the ux density can be “forced” in the
sensors by moving the coil. However, the term “DC
magnetic eld” can be understood as a relative one.
