When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Microsoft Log Analytics
Microsoft Log Analytics is a part of the operations management suite. It is a service in Azure that collects log data from multiple systems in a single data store in a central place. It consists of two important components:
- The Azure Log Analytics portal with alerting, reporting and analyzing features
- The OMS Agent to install on the virtual machine
There is also a mobile app available (in the iOS and Android store, you can find it under the name Microsoft Operations Management Suite) if you want to view the state of your workloads while you are on the way.
In this section, I'll only use the Azure Portal and PowerShell; the options in Azure CLI are very limited or sometimes even none existent.
