When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Current setup
When we created the RDS instance, it was done using the defaults provided by AWS. This meant that it was created in the default VPC with public access and a default security group that allowed traffic from 0.0.0.0/0 to port 5432.
Also, the Greeter lambda was created with defaults, which means that it wasn't launched in a VPC. We need to move it to the default VPC that was created.
It is recommended that for a production system, a VPC apart from the default one has to be created. This VPC has public and private subnets along with a NAT server. We will see this being set up in Chapter 9, Advanced AWS Services when we orchestrate the system with a tooling framework.
