Whenever someone hears the name Google, the first thing that would probably spring to mind is, of course, the widely popular search engine that made its appearance some time around 1997 and since then has consistently managed to eclipse all other competition in the search engine space.
The heart of Google's search engine technology is undoubtedly the patented PageRank algorithm, which was published in the 1999 paper by the Google co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin [8]. Fortunately, the patent to the algorithm expired in June 2019; that's a great piece of news as it allows us to freely implement it for the Links 'R' Us project!
