Creating the Windows Azure Storage

Once you’ve created your subscription, you need to set up a Storage account. There are different kinds of storage available (blob, table, queue, drive), but the one you need at this point is the blob storage, which is the place where you can store binary data such as files. To accomplish this, open the management portal and sign in with your Windows Live ID.

Once you’ve logged in, click Storage on the left, then Create Storage Account at the top of the page. The management portal will open a pop-up where you can specify information for your storage account. At this point, you only need to specify an account name (lowercase) and location.
