It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Access the Camera and Photos on iOS
Mobile apps often want access to information stored on the user’s device, such as when using the camera or photo library for image uploads. This is another area where Hotwire Native shines. We can trigger fully baked, native flows without writing any native code. All we need is the right HTML markup—iOS will take care of the rest!
Run the iOS app from Xcode and sign in. Then tap “Add a hike” and, to set the image, tap the Choose File button in the form.
Select a photo from the library, give it a name and description, and click Save, as shown in the screenshot.
