It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

You just learned how to create and configure a native tab bar on iOS and Android. For iOS, you picked up some knowledge about SF Symbols. And on Android, you learned how to work with multiple views in a single XML layout.
When developing apps with Hotwire Native, simply being aware of first-party components like HotwireTabBarController and HotwireBottomNavigationController can often save a lot of time. I’ve gone through many iterations of custom versions of native tab bars, but I’ll be sticking with the ones outlined in this chapter for a long time.
