Relaxing body and mind
If we asked you to think of five terms to describe what it feels like to be anxious, which would you opt for? Here are some of the suggestions we received when we asked around:
- Edgy
- Tense
- Apprehensive
- Distracted
- Burdened
- Fearful
- Miserable
- Agitated
- Nervous
- Flustered.
What about the opposite of these adjectives? You might think, for example, of calm, relaxed, peaceful, tranquil, content – exactly the qualities that each of the strategies we’ve described so far in this book sets out to achieve.
