Process elements organize content elements into activities and lifecycles and give the content a sequential structure. These elements help answer questions about when content elements occur, either sequentially or in parallel. The advantage of separating the process elements from the content elements is that process engineers can assemble processes from existing content elements based on the needs of a particular project. You can even structure the process elements in a way that you can reuse them; such process elements are referred to as capability patterns. This chapter introduces these elements.
