Super-Resolution with a Priori Information

10.1 Introduction

In the previous chapters, we have dealt with the problem of image interpolation. As defined in Chapter 1, interpolation is intended to estimate a high-resolution (HR) image based on a degraded low-resolution (LR) image. In real life, there are applications in which multiple degraded LR images are available and a single HR image is required. As mentioned previously, this problem is known as super-resolution image reconstruction and it is treated in this chapter.
