So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Point-in-time restoration key points
The following key points provide more information about point-in-time restoration:
- When you restore a database, a new database is created, which means that you will have to pay for the new database, too.
- You cannot provide the new database with the same name as the original database, because the original still exists; to do so, you would have to remove the original one.
- You can choose a restoration point between the earliest point and the latest backup time, which is six minutes before the current time.
- The database recovery time varies from one database to another, according to many factors; some of them are as follows:
- The database's size
- The number of transaction logs involved in the operations
