Most systems allow for an increase or decrease of sensitivity during the inspec-

tion process. e goal is to not set the sensitivity too high or too low, so the CER is

used to obtain a valid measure of the system performance.

Enrollment time, or the time it takes to initially register with a system by pro-

viding samples of biometric information such as fingerprints, is another factor to

consider. An acceptable enrollment time is approximately 2 minutes. Periodically,

updates may be required for enrollment information. Over time, voices can change
