It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Time for action — using filters
In this example, let's create an icon, such as the example shown as follows:
Let's give it a drop shadow, which is one of the more common filter effects used in Inkscape and almost all image editing software as it is an essential filter for creating a sense of realism:
- Open a new Inkscape document.
- From the main menu, select File, New, and then icon_64x64.
Tip
Icon sizes can vary depending on your design (or what operating system you might be creating them for), so feel free to change your canvas sizes accordingly.
