Chapter 12. VPLS PE Redundancy Using Inter-Chassis Communication Protocol

Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) requires node redundancy to implement robust multipoint connectivity. A definitive solution for a VPLS node redundancy standard is under work at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and will be subject to code implementation. Although the approach outlined in this chapter is still under draft, it should be considered the main solution when it becomes ready for application.
