Keyboards, DJ Decks and Controllers
Since USB-equipped products can be interfaced to the iPad using the Apple Camera Connection Kit or its clones and MIDI-equipped products can be interfaced using any one of the number of available MIDI interfaces, the number of keyboard and controller products which can potentially be used with the iPad is pretty much unlimited. It’s best to determine a suitable product according to your exact studio or stage application.
If you want to play complex piano parts, perhaps taking advantage of the high-quality piano sounds within Garageband, then a full-length weighted keyboard equipped with either USB or MIDI would be ideal, perhaps a model from Akai, Yamaha, M-Audio or Peavey. These usually won’t be ...
