15.1 Introduction

The International Telecommunications Union-Radio Communication (ITU-R) standardization sector developed specifications for International Mobile Telecommunications—2000 (IMT-2000). IMT-2000 has greatly expanded the range of service capabilities and covers a wide range of environments.
