I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Period
Period is a date-based unit of time. Whereas Duration was about time (hours, minutes, seconds, and so on), Period is about years, weeks, months, and so forth. Like Duration, it exposes several arithmetic methods to add and subtract, though these deal with years, months, and days. It also offers plus(long amount, TemporalUnit unit) (and the equivalent minus) as well.
Also, like Duration, Period has a parse() method, which also takes an ISO-8601 format that looks like this--PnYnMnD and PnW. Based on the discussion earlier, the structure is probably pretty obvious:
- The string starts with an optional sign, followed by the letter P.
- After that, for the first form, come three sections, at least one of which must be present--years (Y), months( ...
