So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting started
Before we get too far into the application, let's stop and take a quick look at what is involved in email. For being such a ubiquitous tool, it seems that it's a fairly opaque topic for most people, even the technically minded who might be inclined to read a book such as this. If we're going to work with it, it will be extremely helpful to understand it, even if just a bit. If you are not interested in the details of the protocols themselves, then feel free to skip ahead to the next section.
