I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Taking Notes with Monumentum
For our eighth project, we will again do something new--we'll build a web app. Whereas all of our other projects have been command lines, GUIs, or some combination thereof, this project will be a single module consisting of a REST API and a JavaScript frontend, all built with an eye toward the current microservice trend.
To build the application, you'll learn about the following topics:
- Some of the Java options to build microservice applications
- Payara Micro and microprofile.io
- Java API for RESTful Web Services
- Document data stores and MongoDB
- OAuth authentication (against Google, specifically)
- JSON Web Tokens (JWT)
