10.0 Einleitung

Die meisten Programme müssen mit der Außenwelt interagieren, und eine gängige Methode, dies zu tun, ist das Lesen und Schreiben von Dateien. Dateien werden in der Regel auf einem dauerhaften Medium wie einer Festplatte gespeichert. Die Unterschiede zwischen Dateien, die auf einer Festplatte (und allen betriebssystemabhängigen Dateisystemtypen), einem USB-Laufwerk oder einer SD-Karte, einer DVD-ROM und anderen Speichergeräten gespeichert sind, ignorieren wir an dieser Stelle gerne. Für uns sind es einfach nur Dateien. Und wie die meisten anderen Sprachen und Betriebssysteme erweitert Java das Lese- und Schreibmodell auf die Netzwerkkommunikation (Socket), auf die wir in den Kapiteln 14 und 15 eingehen werden.

Java bietet viele Klassen für die Ein- und Ausgabe, die in Abbildung 10-1 zusammengefasst sind. Dieses Kapitel behandelt alle normalen Ein- und Ausgabeoperationen wie das Öffnen/Schließen und Lesen/Schreiben von Dateien.
