About the Author

John R Kotter is the Konosuke Matsushita Professor of leadership at the Harvard Business School. A graduate of MIT and Harvard, he has been on the Harvard Business School faculty since 1972. In 1981, at the age of 34, he was given tenure and a full professorship at the school, making him one of the youngest people in Harvard’s history to be so honored.

From 1968 to the present, Professor Kotter has been a consultant and a public speaker for more than 400 corporations and public agencies. He has also served on the Army Science Board and the boards of AMI Corporate College, McBer, and Scitex America.
