DEPTH OF FIELD IS ANOTHER GREAT WAY TO BRING MORE FOCUS TO THE SUBJECT IN A PHOTO

If you haven’t figured it out yet, this chapter is all about trying to make the subject of a photo look better. That’s really one of the main things we’re after when enhancing digital photos. We want to make the photo look like it did when we were there. Depth of field is another way to do just that by blurring the background. For example, if you were looking at—or photographing—a beautiful flower, you’d be concentrating on its beauty, not the background. However, when that photo is developed on the computer and you see it onscreen, sometimes that background is what sticks out. This technique will help you fix that.
