So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Thinking About Strategic Leadership
We have identified three ways to look at strategic leadership: the perspectives of the individual leader, the competitive environment, and the organization.
The first perspective views the qualities or characteristics of the individual leader. Sometimes, for example, strategic leadership is framed in terms of how a single leader profoundly affects his or her organization or even the world. James MacGregor Burns's classic work on transformational leadership comes to mind here, and there are also other works that focus on the importance of the visionary leader to strategic change. It is difficult, for example, to think of the civil rights movement in the United States without noting the inspirational leadership ...
