There’s an example used in the Chaos theory called the Butterfly Effect, and it describes how a tiny, almost imperceptible event within a certain setting containing a perfect set of variables can snowball and create massive changes. It begins with a lone butterfly flying along the Atlantic coast off of Africa where the cooler ocean air begins to meet the hot, arid desert air from the Sahara. As the butterfly flaps its small, fragile wings, it begins to mix a tiny portion of the dry hot desert air with the cooler humid air of the Atlantic. Before long, this almost imperceptible air movement begins to grow and become more and more unstable, and within days, it develops into a thunderstorm off the coast continually growing larger and larger. ...
