When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Enabling and configuring authentication
Before anything else, we need to enable authentication, and for doing this, we need to define which authentication mechanism we want to use. Here, we will be using CRAM-MD5 because it is built into Mesos and is a popular authentication algorithm used in Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
We will work on the following:
- Master: This will enable the authentication of frameworks and agents.
- Agent: We will create a file with the agent's secrets and this file will be used to authenticate the master.
- Marathon: This accepts credentials in a different manner to Mesos. Instead of storing everything in one file, only secrets are stored in the file. We can pass ...
