Every user on a Linux system can have their own crontab. There is also a system-wide crontab (not to be confused with the crontab that can run under the root user!), which is used for periodic tasks; we'll get to those later in this chapter. For now, we'll start by exploring the crontab syntax, and create our first crontab for our reader user.
