I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Cached query plan issues
As we discussed earlier, in the sys.dm_exec_query_stats section, SQL Server maintains execution statistics for all the queries that are currently in the cache. There is a wealth of information in this DMV that we can use to troubleshoot several different query performance related issues. We will cover a few issues here, but be sure to reference the BPCheck script in the Tiger Toolbox (https://aka.ms/bpcheck) for a more comprehensive example of queries to identify these scenarios and others.
