Chapter 10. Extensions
Extensions are an easy way to take care of more specialized tasks in Airtable when working in Airtable’s Data section. The ecosystem of Airtable extensions offers tools to clean up data, trigger a text message, import data from platforms like GitHub, find stock photos, and much more. Extensions are another way anyone in your organization can extend Airtable’s powers to meet your goals without any programming abilities. (Although, if you do have the ability to write code in JavaScript, we will also look at how you can create your own scripts with the Scripting extension.)
Clicking “Add an extension” in the extensions dashboard on the right-hand side of the Data section opens up a selection of extensions and scripts from the Marketplace, as shown in Figure 10-1. With a few clicks, setting up an extension to enhance your Airtable experience is easy.
Unfortunately, Extensions are only available on paid Airtable plans. (Previously, workspaces on the free tier were allowed one extension.)
