I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Strings
Cassandra has two types that store string data:
- The text type stores the UTF-8 encoded strings. It's also aliased as the varchar type; you can use these interchangeably
- The ascii type stores strings of ASCII characters (bytes 0-127)
Neither of the previous string types has a limit on the length of strings that can be stored. In CQL, string literals are surrounded by single quotes, 'like this'.
