I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Restarting Cassandra
The final step required to start using user-defined functions is to restart Cassandra. For most installations, you can stop and start Cassandra, as mentioned in Chapter 1, Getting up and Running with Cassandra.
- For Package installations, you can run the following command, which will restart Cassandra:
$ sudo service cassandra restart
- On some Linux distributions, you can also run the following command to restart Cassandra:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/cassandra restart
- For Tarball installations, you can either close the program by pressing Ctrl+C if you started Cassandra in the foregroundor, if you started Cassandra in the background, you can fetch the process ID of the Cassandra process by entering ps -ef | grep cassandra ...
