It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Bolt
Bolt is a binary protocol used to communicate with a Neo4j server. Its three main qualities are to be lightweight, efficient, and type-safe (send a '1' character, get a character, not an integer). A variant of this protocol is bolt+routing, since version 3.1, load balancing is integrated in the drivers and protocol.
