It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Read replica servers
Read replica servers are to be seen and used as read-only servers. Their data is updated by the core servers. A replica server may not be up to date at an instant T as transactions are considered good when core servers acknowledge the transaction. Use read replica servers for intensive reporting queries.
