DSC for Linux is the bucket term for the set of software that allows Linux and Linux-derived OSes to be managed by DSC. DSC on Linux is comprised of a server implementation of OMI (https://collaboration.opengroup.org/omi) and a set of scripts that are analogous to the DSC cmdlets available in WMF. The OMI server acts as the LCM and executes DSC resources specifically written for the Linux OS. It largely operates the same as DSC on Windows, with a few differences we will cover in a bit. First, let's cover how to install the prerequisites and the initial setup.
