It should come as no surprise, since many people don’t learn good personal financial habits growing up and how to negotiate the range of money problems likely to come our way as adults, that two adults entering a relationship are virtually guaranteed to have issues relating to each other on the topic of money. Relationships are challenging. Opportunities for differences and conflict abound, from child rearing to sex to recapping the toothpaste, but money issues can set off the some of the largest fireworks (and produce plenty of smoldering hot spots just under the surface) in a relationship.
