12.0 Introducción

Java puede utilizarse para escribir muchos tipos de programas en red. En el código tradicional basado en sockets, el programador es responsable de estructurar la interacción entre el cliente y el servidor; el código del socket TCP simplemente se asegura de que los datos que envíes lleguen al otro extremo. En los tipos de nivel superior, como HTTP, RMI, CORBA y EJB, el software asume más control.
