Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Since its introduction in 1995, Voice over IP, or simply VoIP, like Linux, has evolved rapidly, and it continues to revolutionize communication, replacing traditional telephone networks all around the world. Every day, more and more people communicate over VoIP. International and continental long-distance calls, local calls, and even calls via smartphone apps (applications on smartphones) utilize VoIP networks in ways most people never even think about.
