I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Working with PC Files
Documents created on a DOS- or Windows-compatible computer aren't the same as those created on a Mac OS-compatible computer. Some differences include:
Disk formats vary based on the operating system that formatted the disk.
Document formats vary based on characters and special codes recognized or required by each operating system.
Document formats also vary based on application codes and formats.
Mac OS 9.1 comes with File Exchange, a software tool that helps you work with PC files by performing three functions:
Reads PC-formatted disks on your Mac OS computer.
Maps DOS and Windows extensions to Mac OS applications.
