Back in the old days, you had to read a newspaper or a magazine, listen to the radio, or watch TV to get the latest news. Today, you can get the latest news, often within minutes of it happening, right on your Mac.

The secret to accessing information all over the world lies with the Internet. By connecting to the Internet, you can access a wealth of information that rivals anything your library could offer.

To access the Internet, you need to use a special program called a browser. OS X comes with a browser called Safari, which lets you browse web sites on the Internet.
