Everything we’ve discussed in this book has been about working with propane vapor. Indeed, since propane liquid isn’t directly flammable, it turns to vapor in all but the coldest temperatures and must mix with oxygen; the only way to burn propane is as vapor. However, we have relied on the propane storage cylinder to convert the stored liquid into vapor for us. This is extremely convenient and allows us to use relatively low-cost components rated for vapor downstream from that cylinder.
