When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The world’s premier flame effect showcase has got to be Burning Man, the event attracting tens of thousands of people to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert every year. Dave X has been the fire safety team manager for Burning Man for over 15 years. He is a licensed pyrotechnic operator working in Northern California, and along with his team, serves as the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) for Burning Man. As the AHJ, the fire safety team has reviewed and inspected thousands of effects over the years. Dave X and his partner Eric Smith have taught close to a thousand students in their flame effect classes in the United States and around the world.
