PROJECTS: Squishy Tech
What I love about making your own touch
matrices is that you can make them any shape
you want. Try exploring wobbly lines, new textile
materials, or expanding and contracting the grid
size. Even though most resistive matrices have
a uniform grid, there’s no reason you can’t get
weird with it and make an undulating, intersecting
pattern with varying degrees of density!
1. PREPARE YOUR MATRIX
You can either use a pre-made touch matrix, like
Loomia’s Mega Pressure Matrix (Figure
B
),
or make your own. Loomia makes a variety of
amazing soft surface interfaces for prototyping.
