This chapter will be most useful for Producers, Project Leaders, Development Directors, and other hiring managers –those who work directly on recruiting, hiring, and managing members of game development teams. Entire volumes have been written about effective strategies for hiring great people and managing high-performing technical teams. Two classics that remain among my favorites are Hiring Winners by Richard Pinsker and Jim McCarthy's Dynamics of Software Development. Lou Adler's more recent book, Hire with Your Head, is another terrific volume focused squarely on the challenges of effective hiring.
