So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
General purpose instructions
The general purpose instructions perform basic operations such as data movement, arithmetic, flow control, and so on. They are grouped by their purpose:
- Data transfer instructions
- Binary arithmetic instructions
- Decimal arithmetic instructions
- Logical instructions
- Shift and rotate instructions
- Bit/byte manipulation instructions
- Flow control instructions
- String manipulation instructions
- ENTER/LEAVE instructions
- Flag control instructions
- Miscellaneous instructions
The division of instructions into groups is the same as in the Intel Software Developer's Manual.
